We offer IELTS classes at two levels. You can join the foundation IELTS Master Class if your level is B2 and you are aiming to get from 4.5 - 6.0 (band score).  The IELTS Master Class, you can join this class if your level is C1 and you are aiming at band score 6.0 - 7.5. Online practice, and mock test are included in both courses. The course runs 12 hours a week over three days for 10 weeks term time. Students will be able to join in on  4 weeks intervals and can make up missed sessions at the start of the next term. Students are assessed to find their suitable level. Pre-Intermediate - CEFRL A2+: Students learn about verbs (regular, irregular, modal, tenses and other forms), nouns and pronouns, prepositions and determiners, adjectives and adverbs, simple reported speech and conditional sentences. Extra vocabulary for everyday English.

Intermediate - CEFRL B1: At this level students learn about future forms, passives (present and past tenses), question forms, directions, agreeing and disagreeing in English, listening and reading skill development and writing informal letters.

Upper Intermediate - CEFRL B2: This Course looks at complex verb patterns, formal letters and writing, interpreting specific texts, expressing opinions and giving details about yourself and your ambitions, talking about relationships, telephoning and giving interviews.

Pre entry

This 8 week course covers the four skill areas; speaking, listening, reading and writing. Classes look at alphabet, numbers, food and drink, likes and dislikes, asking for things and telling the time.

Entry 1 

Learners will practice their speaking, listening reading and writing skills .

Subjects covered include transport; asking for directions, health, describing sickness and cures, describing people appearance and personality and jobs.

Entry 2 & 3

This course covers verb tenses (past, present continuous, future), conjunctions (and, so. but) and comparatives and superlatives (comparing different things). Learners are taught basic grammar rules e.g. adjectives, adverbs, nouns and verbs and how to use these in practical situations.

READ & WRITE

For adults with English as a first language or second language to help with reading, writing and spelling skills; using phonics to recognise letters, say their sounds and write them in words and how to combine words to make sentences.

LITERACY

This course runs over 8 weeks and concentrates on reading and writing skills. Learners will look at the word order of sentences spelling rules and patterns, punctuation, skimming and scanning reading techniques and how to write formal letters.
