Location Settings

Geolocation is the identification of the real-world geographic location of an object, such as a mobile phone or Internet-connected computer terminal. This guide explains how the system location settings on the LEL website work.

The LEL website uses Geolocation (location settings) which links your location to our maps and other features within the site. Importantly, as Geolocation will display the current location of the visitor it can potentially become a privacy problem, which is why the maps on our website will only work with the permission of the visitor.

To centre the map where you are, you'll need to give permission for our maps to see your location. How you give this permission depends on the device used to connect to our website.

Once you open our website in Chrome browser and land on a page that contains a map you'll be presented with a pop-up dialog box. This box appears in the top left corner of your screen. In the dialog that appears, you'll be presented with 2 options - you must select one of these permissions:

  • Know your location » Allow
Select this option to let our website automatically detect your location. Doing this allows full access and lists all the available classes (and courses) within the mileage radius set to your location.
  • Know your location » Block
Select this option to block access to our website automatically detecting your location. Doing this will mean that you'll need to enter your own address / postcode in the search box and all classes will display, regardless of the class location.

When you open a page on our website with a map this is the pop-up dialog that will display on your screen.1
